A Scarborough resident is facing multiple charges after fleeing from police on the weekend.
Quinte West OPP were conducting speed enforcement at Wooler Road in Quinte West when officers spotted a vehicle heading eastbound on the 401, traveling 40 km/h over the posted speed limit.
The driver did not stop for police and exited the highway, collided with a highway sign and continued northbound on Highway 33.
Officers located the vehicle abandoned near Coad Road and arrested the driver in the area.
Police during their investigation seized suspected cocaine as well.
Bright Aboagye, 28, is facing charges of flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of cocaine, driving while under suspension, using a plate not authorized for the vehicle, failure to remain and speeding.
The driver will appear in Belleville court on January 18.
