HPE Public Health is reporting three new cases of COVID-19 today, but five people have also recovered from the virus.
That brings the total number of active cases in the two counties to 40.
All three new cases were confirmed yesterday, with one each being attributed to close contact and local spread, while the transmission cause of the third new case is pending.
The seven day case rate per 100,000 is 22.6, which keeps the area in the “yellow zone” of Ontario’s COVID-19 Response Framework.
That number would have to rise to 25 cases per 100,000, or higher, to push HPE into the “orange zone” and increase restrictions.
In Northumberland County, the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge Health Unit is reporting five new cases today and no new recoveries, putting the number of active cases there at 28.
