It’s been a busy year for fraudsters going after people in Prince Edward County.
County OPP say they’ve received about 89 different reports of fraud this year, leading to losses of just under $300,000.
Police say while those cases tend to vary between phone calls and emails, there are a number of common themes and they’re putting out some tips and resources to help you stay protected.
Those include:
- Do not be afraid to say no
- Do your research
- Be careful who you share images with
- Know who you are dealing with
- Protect your computer and other devices
