A former Trenton resident has been handed the top award by the Helicopter Association of Canada.
Mike Aldersey was named as the winner of the Agar Stringer Award winner for 2020.
The award goes to just a few people annually for their contribution to the helicopter industry.
According to the North Island Gazette, Aldersey, who grew up locally was inspired by the planes going in and out of CFB Trenton.
He holds a record of over 30,000 accident-free hours as pilot in command.
