The sentencing of a 34 year-old Prince Edward County man on manslaughter and drug trafficking charges has been put off until later this month.
Thomas Fox was to have been sentenced today (Wednesday) however Justice Geoffrey Griffin decided to delay the sentencing until December 23 to allow him some time with his family at Christmas.
On September 30, Fox was found guilty at trial in the overdose death of a friend of his, 34 year-old Travis Rosseau, on the lethal drug carfentanil on March 11, 2019.
The Crown is asking for a seven year prison sentence. Fox’s defence attorney is asking for two and half years credit for time already spent in custody plus another 18 months in custody for a sentence totaling four years.
Fox has been in custody for close to 18 months.
