A couple from Carrying Place are a quarter of a million dollars richer.
April and Wayne Newhook won $250,000 after winning Instant Gifts of Gold.
Wayne says he discovered they had won in the middle of the night but waited to say anything to his wife until the morning, asking her to check the tickets at the store and saying there was a $250,000 winner there.
April says she thought her husband was joking until it came up “Big Winner” at the store.
The grandparents plan to pay off their mortgage, do some renovations, buy a new vehicle and save some funds for a family trip.
The winning ticket was purchased at Macewen on Main Street in Wellington.
