The cooler weather seems here to stay and City of Belleville staff want to make residents aware of some seasonal changes affecting outdoor spaces.
Tobogganing
Staff are asking residents to refrain from sledding at Zwick’s Park and the Canada Flag Hill by Highway 401 until there is more snow on the ground. Staff say sledding too early can be dangerous and also can damage the grass. The City will notify residents when it is safe to sled.
Riverside BMX/Skate Park
The BMX/Skate Park at Riverside Park has been closed for the season. If there is an extended warm spell where it can be temporarily reopened, staff will do so.
Mary-Anne Sills Park
The track at Mary-Anne Sills Park has been closed for the season. It will be reopened for walking when conditions permit.
