The list of projects in Belleville’s capital budget for 2021 includes millions for road reconstruction, but also smaller projects that affect a wide range of issues.
The long-awaited upgrade of Herchimer Avenue is on the list, originally at $4.2 million, but an additional $2.6 million is being requested.
Bus Stop upgrades continue with more in 2021 on routes 4, 5, and 7, if approved.
There’s a $10,000 request for Real Time bus arrival monitors, to be located at the Transit Terminal, Loyalist College, and a third locaton yet to be determined.
There’s a request for $100,000 for a second dog park to be located in Thurlow Ward.
The budget includes $789,300 for repairs to the Bridge Street bridge.
The staff report calls for repairs to the city hall Mansard roof and restoration of decorative trim.
Large projects, as earlier reported, include reconstruction of a section of Orchard Drive at $5.9 million and similar work on Alexander Street costing $3.7 million.
Belleville city council will consider the proposed $36 million capital budget, beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
