Hastings Prince Edward Public Health has confirmed a COVID-19 outbreak at Procter & Gamble, in the Belleville Industrial Park.
Health officials say they are working closely with the company, after nine workers at the University Avenue site tested positive, between November 15 and November 25.
HPE Public Health says the company has provided information on those who tested positive, allowing them to get in touch with any high-risk contacts who have been told to self-isolate immediately and get tested.
Those close contacts are also required to remain in quarantine for 14 days, regardless of their test results.
While the Health Unit doesn’t typically give out the location of a workplace outbreak, this info is being passed along to make sure all potential contacts can be aware and get tested if needed.
The Health Unit says the products manufactured at P&G pose no risk of transmission.
