There are only a few days left to register for this year’s Belleville Christmas Sharing program.
Coordinator Pam Smith says they have almost 1,350 registrations so far and that doesn’t include some of the online registrations, but she fully anticipates numbers will be higher this year than last year.
Families or individuals in need can apply in person or online this year.
Families can also register for Christmas food boxes and toys from the Firefighter Toy Drive for children under 10.
Individuals can apply for a grocery gift card and the Community Christmas Dinner hosted by the Salvation Army.
Registration closes on Monday, November 30.
Those wishing to register need to provide proof of identity, address and income.
To apply in person, visit the Christmas Sharing Office at 199 Front Street, Century Plaza, second floor from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
To apply online visit www.christmassharing.org.
Due to COVID-19, the Christmas dinner will be takeout or delivery only at 4 p.m. on Christmas Day.
Smith says they are in need of volunteers to help with dinner delivery on Christmas Day.
She also noted families, businesses or churches wishing to sponsor a family need to let organizers know by mid-next week.
Smith says those families not sponsored will receive a meal covered by the Christmas Sharing program and they are in need of donations to cover those costs as well.
