The Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada joined the Lorne Brooker Show Thursday morning.
COVID-19 was a large portion of their conversation.
O’Toole, who got the virus himself, says getting vaccines needs to be front and centre.
“We could have also starting in March, started pivoting some capacity. Remember, they spent closing in on half a trillion dollars Lorne; and not much of it went to Canadians. Less than half of it actually went to Canadians.”
To finish the interview, O’Toole and Brooker discussed former Trenton resident, Snowbird Captain Jenn Casey.
The Wellington Dukes and Trenton Golden Hawks will be playing a game Friday in honour of Casey, who while on air at Quinte Broadcasting, was known as Jennifer Howell.
“I spoke about Captain Jennifer Casey in my Remembrance Day remarks in the House (of Commons). She died as part of Operation Inspiration, where the Snowbirds were trying to lift the spirits of Canadians through the pandemic. Once again putting the country first, putting service first. I think it is amazing that we are going to have the Trenton Snowbirds for a day other than Golden Hawks. As you know the Golden Hawks were the performance aircraft team before the the Snowbirds . I think it is a wonderful tribute. I am just so proud of the people that have done that. What a wonderful way to highlight Jenn’s work at your station, in the community. Her service in uniform we will always remember what she did for our country.”
