The mayor of Quinte West is joining in with other local leaders in asking people to refrain from non-essential travel outside the Hastings-Prince Edward area.
Mayor Jim Harrison says “we need everyone’s cooperation to keep our local case count down” and is asking people to continue to wash their hands, wear masks and avoid any unnecessary travel outside the region.
He’s also discouraging residents from having out-of-town guests visit.
Harrison says while the holiday season is fast approaching, they are asking people not to do that this year, in order to keep the most vulnerable members of our community safe.
