The City of Belleville is introducing a community initiative called Snow Angels.
Snow Angels is a neighbourhood program that matches volunteers with people in their area who need help shovelling snow from their driveways and walkways.
Clearing snow can be a barrier for many people including older adults, people with disabilities, someone with an injury, or even a parent with young children in the house.
It can affect an individual’s ability to stay active in our community and to live at home safely and as independently as possible.
With the Snow Angels program, those who may need support with snow removal can register and be paired with a volunteer in their community.
To volunteer or to register for assistance, visit: www.snowangelscanada.ca
The Snow Angels program is not a City of Belleville program. It relies completely on the community and the registration of volunteers. However, those with questions regarding the program or how to register may contact the city’s Accessibility Coordinator at 613-967-3200 ext. 3502.
To encourage people to get involved and to recognize the work of generous “snow angels” in our community, volunteers will have the chance to win some fun City of Belleville winter swag.
Volunteers can be nominated by the person they are helping and will be entered in a monthly draw to win City of Belleville branded toques and sweaters. Nominations are accepted by filling out the Snow Angels Nomination Form on the City’s website, by phone at 613-967-3200 ext. 3502 or by email at accessibility@belleville.ca.
