Hastings Prince Edward residents are being urged to get the flu shot this year.
Manager of Clinical Services for the local Public Health, Alisha Hanes, tells Quinte News, “This year it’s more important than ever to get the flu vaccine. This protects ourselves and those around you from serious illness.”
“Getting the flu vvaccine protects those who are most vulnerable, such as children under five, adults 65 years or over, pregnant women and those living with chronic health conditions like diabetes.”
Hanes says the vaccine is available at various locations throughout Hastings and Prince Edward counties, including your health care provider’s office and participating pharmacies.
The flu vaccine is also available by appointment at Hastings Prince Edward Public Health for children under five years of age, and those without a health care provider.
