There is a conditional sale on the former Ben Bleecker property.
Sources have confirmed to Quinte News that the eight-acre site, at the corner of Sidney Street and Bridge Street West, has been sold in two parts.
One component of the property is proposed for residential use, the other is commercial.
None of it can move forward without municipal approval. City staff is currently looking over the proposal.
Our source says the site is currently zoned for community use, and that will need to change for things to move forward.
If the city signs off on the paperwork, the sale could close in the first weeks of 2021.
The site has frontages on Yeomans Street, Catherine Street, Bridge Street West, and Sidney Street.
