A large marijuana growing operation is being proposed in the City of Quinte West.
A numbered company is applying to the city’s Planning Advisory Committee for a rezoning of 36 acres of land at 347 Grills Roads to allow 21 greenhouses for the production of marijuana.
Any such operation would require a licence from Health Canada.
The land is currently zoned agricultural and cannabis production is permitted in that designation.
Quinte West’s planning committee will see the application at a meeting tomorrow (Thursday) but a decision won’t be made until a future date.
