Personnel and a Hercules aircraft from 8 Wing Trenton’s 424 search and rescue squadron helped in the rescue of a man from an island in a remote northern Quebec First Nation Monday night.
The Hercules flew above the island providing enough light to allow first responders to get to the man whose boat got stuck near the island near the Cree community of Waskaganish on the southern tip of Hudson Bay.
The man got to shore on his own and built a fire to stay warm while waiting for help.
