Plans are in the works for the development of a long vacant piece of land on the former Nortel property in west end Belleville.
Mayor of Belleville Mitch Panciuk tells Quinte News that he expects the owners to make a formal presentation to the city within a year’s time.
“There’s a process that they are doing where they are working on how many houses they could put there, where the roads would go and where the services would run. They have been in communication with the city on that and they are just finalizing plans so they can come to the planning committee for approval and the public consultation process.”
An important part of any development of the fairgrounds and the vacant part of the Nortel property would be access from both Bridge Street West and North Palmer Road.
