A woman has died in Quinte West prompting a warning from the fire chief.
Quinte West Fire Chief John Whelan says firefighters from Station 1 in Trenton were called to a residence Friday morning for a medical assist.
When firefighters arrived they found a woman had died because she had been smoking while on oxygen.
Chief Whelan says unfortunately the Office of the Fire Marshal will be called in to investigate the incident as it was a fatality.
He is reminding those who are on oxygen to avoid any flame or spark as it will cause a combustible reaction.
