The Belleville Police Service responded to 77 calls for service from November 4, 2020 at 5 a.m. to November 5, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Criminal Harassment
On November 4, 2020 at 10:20 a.m., police were dispatched to a south end residence in regards to a criminal harassment complaint. Officers made contact with the complainant as well as the suspect. The suspect was issued a formal trespass notice and was escorted away from the property. Approximately one hour later, the complainant called the police back advising that the suspect returned after police warned him not to and continued to harass the complainant. The accused, 37-year-old John Willis of Belleville was arrested for Criminal Harassment. He is scheduled to attend court on November 30, 2020 to answer to the charge.
Drug Trafficking / Breach Court Order
At 9 p.m. on November 4, 2020, police conducted a traffic stop on North Front St. at Strachan St. Officers located a male in the front passenger seat who was known to be in breach of his bail conditions. The male suspect was arrested. Officers searched the suspect and located a quantity of cocaine and fentanyl on his person.
The 40-year-old Belleville man was charged with the following criminal offences;
- Breach of Court Order
- Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
The accused was held in custody to appear at a Show Cause Hearing scheduled on November 5, 2020 to answer to his charges.
Over 80mgs
On November 5, 2020 at 1:30 a.m., Belleville police attended College St E regarding a vehicle that appeared to strike the curb and blow out a tire. Officers located an adult female and an adult male attempting to change a tire. The investigation revealed that the male was driving the vehicle when the car left the roadway and blew the tire out. Officers had the male driver provide a roadside breath screening sample which he failed. He was arrested for Operation of a Motor Vehicle while Blood Alcohol Content Exceeded 80mgs. The vehicle was removed from the scene. The accused, 21-year-old Brandon Doran of Picton was charged with Over 80 and released on his own recognizance with a 90-day driver’s suspension. Mr. Doran is scheduled to appear in court on November 19, 2020 to answer to the charge.
