Two residents of Quinte West made court appearances today (November 5) after being charged with various drug offences.
Members of the Quinte West Community Street Crime Unit began a drug investigation in the fall and after obtaining a search warrant, executed a search at a home on Trenton Street in Trenton.
Members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), and OPP Emergency Response Team assisted.
Two men were arrested at the scene and a quantity of suspected fentanyl, hydromorphone pills, cocaine and over $10,000 in Canadian currency were seized.
Michael Mitchell, 28 years old, and Mitch Mitchell, 30 years old, both of Quinte West have been charged with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking- Opioid (other than heroin)
- Failure to Comply with Release Order – Other than Attend Court
Additionally, Michael Mitchell is charged with two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
