There was a strange incident in a central part of Belleville late yesterday (Monday) afternoon.
Someone called police saying a man had threatened to kill him and was swinging a golf club and hitting trees with it.
Belleville police responded and arrested a 45-year-old city man who was well known to them and charged him with uttering death threats and breaching probation.
He is in custody for a bail hearing today.
