There could soon be a by-law regulating mobile food trucks in the Municipality of Brighton.
At tonight’s (Monday) council meeting council will see a draft by-law which would require food truck and even ice cream cart operators to be licensed by the municipality before setting up on either municipal or private property.
Part of the licensing process would include the involvement of public health.
Under the proposed by-law an annual licence for a chip truck would be $275.
Fines for operating without a licence would range from $250. to $400.
