The Frankford Legion will be following provincial recommendations against large gatherings and is not holding a public Remembrance Day ceremony this year.
Branch 387 President Gary Lloyd says while they have to follow the recommendations in place it would be “devastating to many Canadians” to let Remembrance Day pass without some form of recognition.
With that in mind, there is a plan in place to broadcast a ceremony via loudspeaker from the roof of the Frankford Foodland and Lloyd is encouraging residents to listen from their driveways or balconies and to observe two minutes of silence to mark the occasion.
Lloyd says a colour party and small number of Legion members will still be present at the cenotaph to lay wreaths and pay their respects.
