The Belleville Police Service responded to 64 calls for service from October 27, 2020 at 5 a.m. to October 28, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Shoplift/Warrant
On October 27, 2020 at approximately 1:30 p.m., city police were dispatched to Canadian Tire on Bell Blvd in regards to a male shoplifter. Police arrived on scene and were advised that the suspect was seen trying to remove numerous items from the store without purchasing them. Police charged a 32-year-old Trent Hills resident with theft and possession of stolen property. During the investigation, officers learned the male was also currently wanted by the OPP. As a result, the male was turned over to the OPP.
