Belleville’s city hall council chambers will have a new look in 2021.
It was about 30 years ago that city hall got a facelift on all four floors.
Now the council chambers will be renovated to give better seating for the public.
There will also be an upgrade with new technology.
The renovation will also give more room for staff in the council chambers.
It will create wider paths for accessibility.
CAO Rod Bovay assured council accessibility changes will go ahead even if special government funding is not available.
Monday night, city council approved the lowest tender from Tom Belch and Sons Building Contractors, at $235,900.
