It’s likely at least some of the now vacant former Belleville Police Service headquarters will be used over the cold winter months.
The Victoria Avenue Baptist Church is no longer available for use as an overnight warming centre so City of Belleville staff are recommending the gymnasium area in the old police station on Dundas East be used as a warming centre.
The space would be large enough to permit physical distancing.
Belleville council will be asked to budget $30,000 to allow for minor renovations to the space at its meeting Monday afternoon.
