The Belleville General Hospital Foundation has recieved a generous donation from a local man on behalf of his late wife.
Ben Murphy gave a $50,000 gift to the BGHF this week, on behalf of his late wife Audrey, who passed away earlier this month at the age of 83.
Murphy’s decision came after Audrey had been admitted to the BGH Intensive Care Unit to be treated for ongoing COPD issues and was extremely impressed by the care she received and the way she was treated by hospital staff.
The donation will go towards the ICU expansion project, which will add four beds to the regional unit and help provide even better care for residents across the Quinte Region.
BGHF Executive Director Steve Cook called the donation “an amazing example of generosity that will support the community well into the future”.
