The United Way Hastings and Prince Edward is doing very well in these pandemic times as the organization continues its fundraising for the year.
Six local lawyers took part in an annual fundraising event known as Will Week and will complete wills for over 100 people in exchange for a donation of $200 to the United Way.
The Will Week effort has pushed this year’s United Way campaign total to over $600,000. The lawyers involved are Wendy Elliott, Paul Russell, Matthew Page, Kimberly Mohan, Matthew Ward, and Chris Black.
At the same time last year the campaign had raised $510,000.
More than 200 workplaces and thousands of community donors support the United Way each year.
Last year the campaign raised just under $2 million.
