The mayor of Belleville says he continues to support the stance of the local health unit and is “urging residents to follow their direction in all matters, including Halloween”.
Following a health unit recommendation Wednesday that families find alternatives to traditional trick-or-treating, Mayor Mitch Panciuk is reminding residents that unmonitored social gatherings are limited to 10 people or less indoors and that “Halloween should only be celebrated with your household members”.
Panciuk says it’s “a small sacrifice to make to reduce transmission in our region and help ensure we will be able to celebrate future holidays”.
He went on to praise Dr. Oglaza and his staff for their leadership through the pandemic.
