The Belleville Police Service responded to 64 calls for service from October 20, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to October 21, 2020 at 5:00 a.m.
Mischief, Breach of Probation
On October 20, 2020 at 9:50 a.m., Belleville police responded to a disturbance at a north end grocery store parking lot in the later morning. Upon arrival, police were advised by a complainant that another male began arguing with him and at one point, the suspect smashed the complainant’s vehicle exterior mirror. The suspect had left the scene on foot prior to police arrival. Officers located the suspect in the plaza parking lot across the street and took him into custody for Mischief.
Thirty-nine-year-old Brandon Spence of Belleville was charged with one count of Mischief to Property Under $5000 and one count of Breaching his Probation. The accused was later released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to attend criminal court on November 26, 2020 to answer to his charges.
Motor Vehicle Collision
On October 20, 2020 at 5:30 p.m., police responded to the intersection of Bridge St West and Sidney St in regards to a two-vehicle collision. One driver suffered minor injuries and EMS were contacted and attended the scene. One male was transported to Belleville General Hospital with unknown injuries however they were believed to be minor in nature.
An adult female driver from Belleville was charged with Failing to Stop at a Red Light. Both vehicles had to be removed from the scene via recovery tow.
