Hastings County has launched a new locally-focused marketing campaign to meet the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The integrated marketing campaign recognizes that there will not be the same amount of tourists and other travellers in the region because of the pandemic.
The goals of the campaign are to inspire people to shop and explore locally this upcoming holiday season, contribute to county-wide economic prosperity by generating additional revenue for the local businesses and to increase brand awareness among Hastings’ residents.
Marketing Co-ordinator Luisa Sorrentino spoke with Quinte News .
“We’ve shifted our target audience to within Hastings County and to inject more spending to support the local businesses.”
In a statement Warden Rick Philips says, “Our county is home to a diverse array of communities, tourism and business assets that contribute to our quality of life. This pandemic has demonstrated that we have so many safe things to see and do in our county that require little or no travel at all. We can stay close to home, stay safe, and still enjoy amazing outdoor experiences right in Hastings; and while doing that, I encourage you to stop, eat and shop at the wildly authentic businesses around you.”
