The gala might have been a virtual one but the fundraising results were very real.
The Trenton Memorial Hospital’s virtual “For Your Eyes Only” James Bond themed gala raised
$200,000 on Saturday night.
When all the donations were first counted the total was just shy of $200,000 but one of the Foundation’s volunteers topped up the total bringing it to that level.
The $200,000 raised matched the total raised in last year’s gala.
Two hundred sixty-five people enjoyed food and entertainment from home Saturday night and all the money raised goes toward the purchase of a $265,000 microscope used in cataract surgery.
The 10-day event kicked off October 9 with its online public auction followed by the virtual event Saturday night.
Heroes’ Landing hosted the virtual event, which started with twenty volunteer drivers lining up to help deliver over 265 dinners throughout the Quinte region.
