On Friday October 16, 2020 at approximately 6:00 a.m. members of the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), assisted by members of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed a search warrant at a residence on Farley Crescent in Trenton.
Police arrested two people and seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, cannabis plants , fentanyl, oxycodone tablets, and other drug accessories. The value of the known drugs seized from the residence exceeded $5,000.
Aaron Edward MONTGOMERY, 36 years old, and Maria TASLIS-MONTGOMERY, 63 years old, both of Trenton, have been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Other Drugs – Three Counts
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
- Cultivate, Propagate or Harvest More than Four Cannabis Plants
MONTOGOMERY has additionally been charged with:
- Failure to Comply with Release Order – Other than to Attend Court – Two Counts
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
TASLIS-MONTGOMERY was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on October 19, 2020, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
MONTGOMERY was held in custody and appeared via video for a bail hearing on Friday October 16, 2020, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
