It may have been a damp afternoon, but that didn’t take away from the excitement of the event as the ribbon was cut on the new, fully accessible playground at Parkdale Veterans Park.
Mayor Mitch Panciuk, members of council, members of the project team and representatives from the Our Kids charity were on hand for the ceremony.
Belleville city council approved the addition of an accessible play structure this year at the park in partnership with Medigas (Our Kids) at a cost of $200,000 with the Our Kids charity donating $75,000 to the project.
New World Park Solutions began construction on the playground late this summer and JHB Contracting completed the project earlier this week.
Mayor Panciuk says with the rubberized surfacing and unique, inclusive, ground-level structures suitable for a variety of needs and interests, this new space provides play opportunities for all.
