Prince Edward County council could soon be taking action to alleviate concerns about pollution caused by excessive idling of motor vehicles and boats in the county.
Many communities have implemented idling control by-laws.
At its meeting Thursday Prince Edward County’s Committee of the Whole will see a proposed
by-law that would set the maximum idling time for a car or truck at three minutes or five minutes in the winter.
Those times would also apply to boat motors. The fine for idling longer would be set at $200.
