The Belleville Police Service responded to 42 calls for service from October 11, 2020 at 5 a.m. to October 12, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Possession of Narcotics for Trafficking
On October 11, 2020 at 7:30 p.m., a city police officer conducted a traffic stop on Dundas St E at Bleecker Ave regarding an improper licence plate. The traffic stop investigation revealed a quantity of illicit narcotics located in the vehicle. The male driver and two female passengers were taken into custody. The male driver was a confirmed suspended driver and officers seized the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed stolen property, other proceeds of crime as well as crystal meth and fentanyl.
All three adult suspects were from the Bancroft area and are charged with the following criminal offences;
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime
- Possession of Crystal Meth for the Purposes of Trafficking
- Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
The Male driver was also charged with Prohibited Driving. All three accused parties were held in custody and will appear in court on October 12, 2020 for a Show Cause Hearing.
Breach of Court Order
October 11th, 2020 – 9:30am
On October 11, 2020 at 9:30 a.m., police were dispatched to a Thurlow Township residence in regards to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers were advised that a male suspect involved left the scene in a vehicle. The suspect was stopped shortly thereafter and was taken into custody for breaching a court order.
The 35-year-old Thurlow man was charged with one count of Failing to Comply with a Court Order and was held in custody. The accused will appear in court October 12, 2020 for a Show Cause Hearing.
Breach of Probation
On October 11, 2020 at 12 p.m., police attended the area of Cannifton Rd and Moira St E in regards to a male who had breached his probation conditions. Officers located a Thurlow Township youth at the intersection and took the youth into custody.
The youth male was charged with two counts of Breach of Probation and was held in custody. The accused will attend court on October 12, 2020 for a Show Cause Hearing.
