Brighton council could soon bring in a by-law to control marijuana grown for medical/personal use in the municipality.
Municipal officials and OPP have received numerous complaints regarding odour and lighting from some of the plants’ locations.
At issue are personal growing licences issued by Health Canada allowing people to grow cannabis for medical use.
Some growers have come together to grow plants on one property creating problems for neighbours.
Council will discuss a new public nuisance by-law at its meeting tonight (Monday).
