UPDATE @ 6:15 p.m.: TMT Police say there is no more threat to public safety after an extensive manhunt in that area on Monday, despite the fact that they weren’t able to find the man they were looking for.
The search started just after 11:00 a.m. on Monday, following reports that David Bolton was riding around on an ATV, under the influence of drugs and was in possession of two guns.
Members of the OPP were called in to help Tyendinaga Mohawk Police with the search, which led to the lockdown of schools on the territory, but authorities were unable to locate Bolton and ended their search around 5:00 p.m.
In a Facebook post Tyendinaga Police Chief Jason Brant says “any threat to community safety was diminished” as each search zone was cleared, and a warrant has been put out for Bolton, who runs the WatersEdge dispensary.
Chief Brant says anyone who sees him or knows where is asked to call police.
He’s also thanking the public for their tips and patience as the investigation continues.
