Good news from Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre, more programs are opening up later in October following months of COVID-19 shutdown.
Recreation Program Supervisor Tanya Grierson tells Quinte News that the Centre’s Mackay Arena and gymnasium, and Parkdale Community Centre, are going to be used to expand programming.
“It will host fitness programs, children’s programs, a few seniors’ programs and pickle ball. I know a number of clients are very excited that pickle ball will return.”
Grierson says it was necessary to go outside the Centre’s building to the Parkdale Community Centre to accommodate some programs.
“We struggled with rearranging the schedules to try to find homes for all, or as many programs as we could offer so that was one of the locations that we decided to utilize.”
You can hear the program’s opening details in the full interview by Host Mary Thomas on Newsmaker Sunday, this Sunday at the noon hour on 800 CJBQ.
