A driver has been charged after a strange incident on the eastbound Highway 401 near Odessa this morning.
Lennox and Addington OPP officers were called around 7:30 a.m. with reports that pigs were falling out of a tractor trailer that had just got on the highway from County Road 4.
Investigators say five pigs did in fact fall from the vehicle and had to be corralled by police, some passersby and a local animal rescue agency.
The pigs, who weren’t injured in the fall, were taken away in a horse trailer and the driver was charged with having an insecure load, under the Highway Traffic Act.
