The City of Belleville is celebrating National Seniors Day today (October 1).
In attendance were mayors Mitch Panciuk, Brian Ostrander and Steve Ferguson, along with MP Neil Ellis and David Joyce representing MPP Todd Smith and Belleville councillors.
Panciuk says CARP is promoting a new vision for aging in Canada and the community of Belleville is very fortunate to have the contributions of their seniors.
“The contribution of seniors of Belleville and the Greater Bay of Quinte have helped make our city a leading age-friendly community in Canada.”
Mayor Ferguson echoed those statements saying many seniors make up the majority of their volunteer organizations.
Bev Buchanan, Chapter Chair of CARP Chapter 39, says they are thankful for their ongoing support.
