One resident of Alnwick-Haldimand Township was held for a bail hearing today after an alleged assault with a weapon.
Northumberland OPP say officers were called to a residence on County Road 24 on Monday around 7:30 p.m. when an armed person came into their home and threatened to cause harm.
The suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival but was arrested without incident shortly after 8 p.m. when they returned to the scene.
A 23-year-old is facing various charges including assault with a weapon, uttering threats, forcible confinement, imitation firearm, possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose and break and enter dwelling house.
The name of the suspect will not be released to protect the victim’s identity.
