HPE Public Health says the latest confirmed case of COVID-19 in the area was transmitted through close contact.
A search of the health unit’s COVID-19 Dashboard shows that case, which was confirmed on September 24, had originated in Belleville, but no other information is being released in the interest of patient privacy.
That is the only active case in the HPE area currently.
Meanwhile, the Haliburton-Kawartha Pine Ridge Health Unit is reporting six active cases in Northumberland County, down from seven last week.

Ontario is reporting 700 new cases of COVID-19 with more than 41,100 tests completed.
There are 344 new cases in Toronto with 104 in Peel, 89 in Ottawa and 56 in York Region.
Sixty percent of today’s cases are in people under the age of 40.
Here in the Quinte Region there are no new cases today, but HPE Public Health is still reporting one active case, which was confirmed on September 24.
The transmission is still classified as “pending”.
Meanwhile, The HKPR Health Unit is reporting six active cases in Northumberland County, down from seven last week.
