Belleville council will consider going green in the redevelopment and upgrading of a playground and park in the city’s east end.
At its meeting Monday, city council will see a staff report suggesting an agreement be reached with the Quinte Conservation Authority to build a parking lot in Stanley Park that would feature a paving surface permeable to water.
The use of an Ecoraster permeable paving system would let water seep into the ground instead of running off and is considered environmentally friendly.
The project would cost around $100,000.
