Councillors in Prince Edward County will be looking at a road agreement to facilitate the decommissioning of the WPD White Pines Project on Thursday afternoon.
A road user agreement was put in place between the County and WPD when the wind energy project was approved but staff are seeking a revised agreement as the turbines begin to come down.
The report states the same route that was used to haul in the wind turbine parts will be used for the decommissioning of the turbines. WPD will pay the municipality for damages to road allowances and WPD will abandon any installed conduit for assumption by the municipality, to help minimize disturbance in these areas that would be required for the removal of the conduit.
Council will meet virtually at 1 p.m.
