Quinte Conservation has downgraded the low water condition for two area watersheds.
The Moira and Napanee River watersheds are now classified as a Level 1, meaning the potential for water supply problems has been identified.
Prince Edward County watershed remains in a Level 2 (indicating a potentially serious water supply problem).
The conservation authority says after a very dry June and July, the Quinte region experienced an increase in precipitation throughout the month of August.
Groundwater and surface water conditions are still low for this time of the year, but are starting to improve.
Quinte Conservation is reminding residents with vulnerable water supplies to reduce non-essential water use until groundwater levels have recharged.
Lower Trent Conservation announced it has downgraded the low water condition to Level 1, or “minor drought”, for the Lower Trent Conservation watershed from Grafton to Quinte West and Lake Ontario to Rice Lake.
