The Belleville Police Service responded to 73 calls for service from August 28, 2020 at 5 a.m. to August 29, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Breach of Recognizance
On August 28, 2020 shortly after 8 a.m., police received a call for service to an east end residence where the complainant reported that her ex-boyfriend had breached his recognizance of bail by communicating with her via email. The original charges that the male had been released on included assault, uttering threats and forcible confinement. Police have issued an arrest warrant for the 27-year-old Scarborough man for breach of court order.
Public Intoxication
On August 28, 2020 at 11:10 p.m., police were called to a North Front Street motel with regards to two men who were kicked out of their room but were lingering around the parking lot causing a disturbance. Shortly after their arrival, police arrested two intoxicated 21-year-old Quebec residents and transported them to The Belleville Police Service where they were lodged in cells until morning and released on provincial offence notices for public intoxication.
Arrest on Warrant
On August 29, 2020 around 1:30 a.m., police were called to a west end residence with regards to a man who was present who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for charges including assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, uttering threats and failing to comply with a release order. The 37-year-old Belleville resident was arrested on the warrant and taken to The Belleville Police Service where he will be brought before a justice of the peace via video remand later today for a bail hearing.
