Stolen Vehicle
On August 27, 2020 at approximately 10:36 a.m., city police received a report of a stolen vehicle that was taken from a northern residential address. Stolen was a silver Lexus SUV, RX350, with Ontario licence plate CMKE222. Stolen Camping Trailer
On August 27, 2020 shortly before 3 p.m., city police received a report of a stolen camping trailer from an address in the north end of the city. Stolen was a Jayco white and grey 28’ camping trailer with Ontario licence plate N53961. If anyone has any information with regards to the theft, or the whereabouts of the vehicle, they are encouraged to call The Belleville Police at 613-962-3456, or Crime Stoppers.
Drugs/Breach of Probation
On August 27, 2020 around 1 a.m., city police responded to a suspicious occurrence in the city’s east end. Officers attended and located a vehicle leaving the area. The vehicle was stopped by officers a short distance away. During the investigation, it was learned that a male party in the vehicle was wanted by the Prince Edward OPP. The male party was taken into custody whereby the officers located controlled substances. As a result, a 47-year-old Picton man was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation. The male was held in custody and will appear for a Show Cause Hearing at the Belleville Ontario Court of Justice on August 28, 2020.
