The Belleville Police Service got 65 calls for service over the last 24 hours, including at least one shoplifter and one person arrested on a warrant.
Just after 1:00 p.m. officers were called to Canadian Tire about a 61 year-old woman who was suspected of shoplifting and was charged with committing a prohibited act on private property, then trespassed from the store.
Then just after 11:00 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance call on Cedar Street, where one of the people involved had a warrant out for a domestic incident earlier this month.
He was arrested and will make a court appearance today.
Meanwhile, the BPS Collision Reporting Centre was a busy place yesterday, with seven crashes reported over the last 24 hours.
Included in that was a hit-and-run incident on Bridge Street East near Dufferin Avenue, where a person riding a bike was hit by a pick up truck around 8:15 a.m.
The cyclist suffered minor injuries and didn’t need medical attention, with investigators still looking for the suspect vehicle and its driver.
The truck is described as a metallic blue Ford or Dodge model, which may have front-end damage on the passenger side and the driver was believed to be a younger male.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Tinsley at the BPS (stinsley@police.belleville.on.ca).
